These aren’t exactly fresh news but it’s always pleasant to admire good stills of interesting upcoming movies, like Pope Joan. A while ago, we talked about this adaptation based on Donna Woolfolk Cross’ bestseller and after seeing these images, we are very excited to watch this movie. What do you think?

Wowza! Is that John Goodman? I’m gonna have to wrap my head around that. I have to say that I didn’t really love the book, but I’m still intrigued by the film. Thanks for sharing the stills!
I’m Donna Woolfolk Cross, the author of Pope Joan, writing to thank you for posting the pix of the production. I was on-set in both Germany and Morocco, and I can tell you that Johanna Wokalek is TERRIFIC in the part of Joan, as is John Goodman as Pope Sergius. The delicious David Wenham (voted “Sexiest Australian of 2007) is perfect as Gerold, the romantic hero. When he asks Joan to go away with him, giving up all that she is and has become, you REALLY UNDERSTAND her temptation!
