I’m looking forwar to see “Die Päpstin” (Pope Joan) and the TV Series “Castle”.
I haven’t read the book by Donna Woolfolk Cross because I thought it to boring a topic as I’m not very religious. But the movie I do want to see. The Trailer is awesome and promising.
As to the Series “Castle” it’s a contemporary crime series with nice undercurrents between male and female lead. I’ve watched the first season and am looking forward to the second.
I guess “Rome 2″ would be another series I’m looking forward to watching since I just wrote a review on Season 1 and it’s very interesting and vulgar.
Congrats again and thank you for this give away.
From the DVDs you’re offering I’ve only watched parts of “The Tudors 1″ and just started watching “Larkrise” as part of my period drama challenge.
I thought about my answer before reading Annadlx’s comment above, honest! I am looking forward to seeing Pope Joan. I read the book a few months ago, and will be keen to see it when it comes out. And David Wenham is pretty nice to watch too!
I will also be looking forward to The Tudors Season 4 whenever that hits the screens. Sure there are things to quibble about regards historical accuracy, but I think it has gotten better since season 1. And it is just a beautiful thing to watch….
As a semi-devoted fan of Michael Fassbender I am really really feening for a chance to see THE DEVIL’S WHORE. That and the chance to enjoy a historical storyline featuring a strong female lead. Nothing wrong with some well costumed passion and intrigue.
Gosh there are so many! Nottingham for sure, Sherlock Holmes, Clash of the Titans, the next season of Lark Rise to Candleford and the one Claire Foy is making, but I can’t remember the name right now! There are more but it’s early and my brain isn’t working right yet. lol
I am looking forward to the last season of The Tudors. Some of the movies that you have on your list I have not seen yet. I have wanted to see The Aristocrats for a long time but it seems like an indefinite wait on Blockbuster
I am so excited, of course, to see the new Emma. I also haven’t had the opportunity to see Lark Rise to Candleford, so I’ve been waiting to see that one too even though it’s not new. I ALSO (I know, I know) haven’t seen the new Sherlock Holmes move. However, when it comes out on Redbox, I’m all over that. :)
Thanks – what an amazing giveaway. I know I just won one, but of course who could resist entering this one?!
I’d like to see Dorian Gray, but, alas, it’s not being released here in the U.S. At least, not yet. Also eager to see Lost in Austen. I’ve heard good things about it.
What am I looking forward to watching? New Lark Rise, Picture of Dorian Gray, The Last Station Tolstoy, BBC Emma 2009, Sherlock Holmes, and others. I know many of them have already been released in other countries but not yet in mine, Italy.
To celebrate your anniversary or birthday, here is a present for you: The Great Look Award.

In my case is definitly Dorian Gray, i’ve a crush for Colin Firth since Pride and prejudice :)
Oh, there are so many, but I have to see the new Emma.
I’m looking forward to the new Sherlock Holmes. I have a crush on Robert Downey Jr. (bad guy kinda crush…) and after watching Snatch I became interested in everything made by Guy Ritchie. He has a particular way of telling stories which I really enjoy.
There are so many that I’d love to see, some have already been mentioned! I still haven’t seen Lark Rise except for one episode! I’d like to see the new Cranford , Sherlock Holmes, Creation, Coco Avant Chanel, Pillars of the Earth, From Time to Time, Glorious 39 and of course, Bright Star!! I just found out that Bright Star was playing in at a small theatre in town but I didn’t get the chance to see it :(
I can’t wait to see Creation. Benedict Cumberbatch and Paul Bettany in the same movie–yay!! I live in the US, and it hasn’t been released here yet.
Reading everyone else’s responses has gotten me excited about a few other movies/series as well!
I guess I’d have to say Dorian Gray. There’s nothing I’m really super excited about that’s coming out anytime soon. I’m interested in this new version of DG, though. I’d like to see what they did to it.
I’m really excited about the new series of Emma, seen one episode so far and it is AMAZING! Plus looking forward to Lark Rise to Candleford and Cranford and of course Coco Avant Chanel.
I am waiting to see Dorian Gray, being a staunch Colin Firth fan. I also am really eager for Coco Avant Chanel and The Young Victoria to finally come to Sacramento, Ca. As for series, Tudors 4 and Cranford 2 and Lark Rise 2 are on my list for sure.
There are so many…first off, I am anxious to see Young Victoria finally released in the US. I’m also awaiting Nottingham, Young Sherlock, Coco Avant Chanel, Cranford (Christmas) and anything on the Masterpiece Classic schedule. I feel thant I have to live out my costume movie fix through your site. Thanks for that.
I am really looking forward to seeing BBC’s Cranford Christmas special, season three of Lark Rise and Emma. My children (and I) are eagerly anticipating the next season of Merlin.
I am very much looking forward to the Sherlock Holmes movie. And The Picture of Dorian Grey. But mostly Sherlock Holmes. :)
Wonderful blog – I really look forward to each post!
Uhm… The ones I really can’t wait to see are An education, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, and The last station. :)
Happy birthday, girls!!!!
I am most looking forward to seeing the third season of the Tudors – I am just today finishing watching the 2nd season and I don’t own it yet. I also am interested in seeing the movie Sherlock Holmes- it looks very funny.
I’m looking forward to seeing the new series of Emma. Emma is my least favorite Austen novel, but I’d still like to see it done in a series format.
I’m looking forward to Sherlock Holmes, I think Robert Downey is going to be great in it!
I’m really looking forward to watching “Nine” with Daniel Day-Lewis and Judi Dench. I also can’t wait to see The Last Station with Helen Mirren.
holy crap i cant choose between those movies! seriously that means u guys chose a great list. love your site…
period movies rock!
First thing that comes to mind is the new Emma with Romola Garai, but also I am looking forward to Dorian Gray and to the Cranford Christmas show.
Right now I’m looking forward to watching “Madame Bouvary”, as I just recived the DVD – but that’s old news, of course.
From the new stuff around I’m most interested in watching “Pope Joan” and it appears I’m not the only one here. ;) I’m excited to watch it, because I read the book some time ago and found it a great story, written very good, but I wasn’t quite content with the research behind it. Anyway, it’s a German production, so that usually means it’s either very good or very bad. ;) I hope it’s great!
And the new “Dorian Grey” also looks interesting!
Great blog and I love the contests. ;)
And I agree with Laura: I’m looking forward to each post. Especially as I’m posting nothing in my own blog right now… too busy… so I love to read here even more! :-D Thank you!
What a great giveaway! I was just reminded in a book club discussion yesterday that the Sherlock Holmes movie is coming out in December. That is one I’ll go to the theater for. Not sure about Dorian Gray, but I do love Colin Firth.
An upcoming movie I really want to see is Sherlock Holmes. I’d love to see Dorian Gray but it’s not out in the U.S. yet as far as I know, so that’s a shame. I loved the book.
Movie wise, I am looking forward to the rock ‘em sock ‘em version of Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr. being a guilty pleasure of mine since I was far too young). Also, Young Victoria, which was filmed at the palace where I worked for a season.
Television wise, my hopes are all hinged on Emma. I’ve yet to see a really satisfactory adaptation but the BBC rarely disappoints!
Congratulations for the birthday! I always like to read the news here :)
I’m definitely waiting anxiously for Sherlock Holmes! Drool…. :oP
As for the dvd, let me think a while, I’ll let you know if I win, ok?
I’m looking forward to getting NetFlix and renting the Robin Hood series. I can’t believe it’s so hard to get a hold of here in the US.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I am really looking forward to seeing Young Victoria, so much in fact that I know exactly what theatre and day it will be released. Although I am also really looking forward to the Christmas Cranford special.
The Cranford special. Thanks for the great giveaway. :)
Happy Birthday! :) 2 years! you are quite grown up by now :) Reading all those comments made me think that I really must see Lark Rise. Yeah, why didn’t I? :)
but for the giveaway, it’s definitely Lilies :)
Good luck everyone!
I was excited to watch Bright Star, but it turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment. But I am excited to watch the new Emma. It would be strange to see these same actors who have acted in previous period dramas though.
I’m looking forward to watch the Emma, Cranford Christmas Special, Dorian Gray and the second series of Lark Rise to Candleford. Wow, interesting prizes, good luck everyone.
For me, it would have to be Emma (2009). I LOVED the Gwyneth Paltrow version. It was quite a shock when I actually got round to reading the novel and it felt a bit of a drag. I’m personally not a huge fan of Emma, the novel, even though I am a huge Austen fan, in general. I’m also eager to see the new Cranford. I just happened to have watched it again recently and still love it just as much. I had no idea that they were going to make more! (I just discovered that here, just now. So thank you!) Hurrah!
First of all, thank you for hosting such a fabulous contest/giveaway.
I’m truly looking forward to the BBC Adaptation of Emma. I love the book and Gwyneth Paltrow’s version but I want to know what BBC can come up with. Also Sherlock Homes starring Robert Downey Jr.
I’m so eager to see Pope Joan, i loved the book and the trailer looks amazing! I am definately going to be one of the first to see the movie when it’s released. I’m also eager to see bleak house, I rememeber it coming on tv at the time but we only have one tv and my sister was more intrested in watching the news, so alas i never got to follow it properly.
