Enid Blyton is one of the most famous children’s author in the world, having penned such famous stories as the Famous Five and Noddy. A biopic about her, starring Helena Bonham Carter in the title role aired recently on BBC Four as part of their special season of dramas about women (that also includes Gracie Fields and Margot Fonteyn).
Enid Blyton reveals herself as a complex character. totally devoted to her work and her fans but distant to her own family, including her children and the world they lived in seems quite different from the one she has her characters living in. Although her story seems less than happy we are curious about the woman who wrote the books that were part of our childhood.

Oh that sounds interesting! I hope I’ll get to watch it!
Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I’d totally missed that one!
And that picture of Helena Bonham Carter looks great, too!
This is … I’m lost for words. Enid Blyton was THE author for me when I was growing up. Read all her books and loved all of them too. Never read much about the author and her life, so I guss this is truly a film that I need to watch. And since Helena Bonham Carter is part of it, the least thing I’ll get is great acting. ;)
I can’t wait to watch it too. :-)
