What puzzles me is the fact that there are so many RH adaptations already and they keep doing more... I have high expectations for the Russell Crowe / Ridley Scott movie, I just hope I wont be disappointed...

I'm embarrassed that this 'Beyond Sherwood Forest' adaptation is Canadian. We can excel at dramas such as 'Anne of Green Gables' and 'Road to Avonlea' but this action film looks a bit lame to me. I preferred Robin Dunne as Franz Bhaer in 'Little Men'.

Robin Hood and the cycle of the outlaws ( I mean medieval ballads) is something I have to be interested in because I teach about them in the 3rd year of High School ( English Literature classes) but it is just to motivate my students that I look for video materials based on them . None of the adaptations I've seen so far is historically accurate nor realistic ( Kevin Costner? With those just made hair? Unbelievable as an outlaw wildly living in the woods!) I just watched two clips on Utube from this American adaptation you propose here: no way, I don't like it. A dragon? Is this Tolkien or is it a fairy-tale? I also saw BBC RH, the whole 3 series, and I found them amusing, at least. I didn't like series 3 so much, then, too many fawls. Useless say I watched the whole 39 episodes because of Richard Armitage. His Gisborne was superb despite the many absurd twists and turns the writers imposed on his character.

For a Syfy Original movie this was fantastic! Pretty darn good special effects and a great cast helped this movie shine above the norm. The story was allright, it seemed kinda out of the normal Robin Hood story, but on a good note the acting was fairly well done. The sheriff of Nottingham was done exceptionally well. This is one of the few Syfy original movies that i really enjoyed

Ok, what the heck is a dragon doing there? A dragon! This just isn't RH at all! I totally agree with Fraserdlx. Kevin Costner's version is THE ONE for me! I was a child when first watched it and I think it we'll be hard to do a better one in my opinion. BBC normally do good things, but that version of them just sucks. The only thing worthy on it was Richard Armitage.

The BBC TV version has put me off all Robin Hood adaptations. I loved Richard Armitage in it though, he was the only good thing about it.
