I have finally got the chance to see this film. It had one screening only in our city which is such a shame as it is an excellent movie, intellingent and moving though at times a little contrived. Some of her “discoveries” were clearly designed to impress a modern audience who would most likely miss the value of the work she would actually have done. I find this “Hollywoodisation of history” jarring.
The location work was stunning and it gave me the feel of actually being there. I especially loved the street scenes, some of the best I have ever seen in a historical movie.
The acting was good and though I knew that Davos was fictional the end was a box of tissue moment.
I would recommend this film.

this looks like a gripping film. I’ll have to wait till March 11th. That’s the date it opens in Germany. I hope I’ll find someone to go with me to see this movie.

Should be interesting. If I remember correctly her death was exceedingly violent.
